Food Forest Open House, September 5, 2026

Together with the Nature and Environment Federations and Farmers & Neighbors with Nature, Food from the Forest is organizing Food from the Forest national Open Food Forest Day.

Our goal is to show a wide audience what food forests are, what crops you can find there, and how special it is to experience a food forest firsthand.

Register your food forest on the Boer&Buur met Natuur website

Food Forest Open House on September 5!

We are organizing this open house in collaboration with the Nature and Environment Federations and Boer&Buur met Natuur. They have created a great website for this event, where your registration will soon be visible on a national map.

This day offers a unique opportunity to connect neighbors and future customers with your food forest. It allows you to meet volunteers who’d like to lend a hand, potential buyers for your harvest, and helps foster greater understanding and appreciation among local residents. You’re free to organize the day however you like, and you can also set the start and end times yourself via the registration form.

All you have to do on September 5 is open your gates and be there to welcome visitors. But of course, you can also organize all kinds of activities—it’s up to you. We’ll provide a promotional kit. More on that later.

If you've registered through Boer & Buur, you'll be added directly to the national promotional map.

What's in it for you?

  • Many enthusiastic visitors, who often turn out to be new customers, volunteers, or ambassadors.
  • Promotion through 3 organizations: In addition to promotion by Food from the Forest , there Food from the Forest also extensive promotion through the Nature and Environment Federations and Boer&Buur met Natuur. So your food forest will get plenty of exposure!
  • A strong network of food forests, giving rise to new partnerships.

Sign up BEFORE August 15 to help promote the lifts to visitors as part of the national campaign. You’ll also receive the promotional kit, which will make it easier for you to advertise in your region and through your own network.
