A healthy food forest starts with healthy soil.
Plant roots, fungi, bacteria, and countless other organisms work together in the soil. They help make nutrients available, retain water, and strengthen plants’ resilience. But how do you actually know if your soil is healthy? And what can you do to support soil life in your food forest?

In this knowledge session, Marc Siepman, author of numerous books on soil, and Marente Lokin, a researcher at HAS Green Academy and one of the board members of the syntropic Den Food Bosch, will share their in-depth knowledge of soil and soil formation. They both have plenty of time, so they’ll be able to delve deeply into the subject matter.
