ANBI - Association Food from the Forest

Our vision is that by 2050, ten percent of the agricultural land in the Netherlands will consist of food forests and agroforestry. And that those food forests can be considered ecologically, socially and economically successful.

With the Association Food from the Forest , we want to help realize this vision. We do this by spreading knowledge about food forests, pooling food forest forces and knowledge, providing courses, and developing projects-with partners-to help further professionalize the sector.

We do this with now hundreds of members who are active together to create more and more well established and managed food forests in the Netherlands and abroad.

Association Food from the Forest

Food from the Forest has been an association with ANBI status since October 2023. This means that we are run by an unpaid board consisting of Joke Feenstra(president), Vincent Boogaart(treasurer) and Els van Weering(secretary).

This board is supported by a team that provides courses, expands the network, shares knowledge, articles, podcasts, etc. Marieke Karssen, Frank Gorter, and Anje Poortman form the management team. The other team members mainly work on improving our online functionality, communication, and social media. Everyone works on a freelance basis for a maximum rate of 50 euros per hour.
